It's a shame, but also strange, because of the seeming drop-off in quality between the 2 consoles. Also, that whole ethos about it being focused on online was pretty offputting to me...and still is.

Of course, I never owned an XBox One, so I might be wrong. The games might be amazing, for all I know. But it doesn't seem likely. The same old tired franchise, and missing many random stand-along games that are a lot of fun to play, or really good games from newish franchises. The graphics are really good, but that can only take a console so far. It's about the library of games.

I'm surprised at this. Seemed pretty finished a while back, and November a great release window for a game, obviously. It's quite a delay, too. Does anyone care about this, or is a new Sonic racer a matter of indifference to people?

...I wasn't too fussed about getting an XBox One 4 or 5 years ago, and am pretty glad I didn't because it seems mediocre. I don't understand how MS dropped the ball so much. I really enjoyed playing the CODs, the Halos, Alan Wake, L4D, Mirror's Edge, and so on, but there doesn't seem to be too much worth playing on XBox One.

*About 65 games, and I've been playing it plenty over the last 13 years, even the last 5 years, after I'd stopped buying games for it...I have thousands of hours on it

To be fair, unless you want a new TV, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I mean, I don't remember many great game, or film, etc. deals over the years.

They looked quite different, with longer hair of a different colour, but we glanced at each other (bare in mind it's been a few years since we've really spoke) and they seemed to recognise me. Didn't speak, was too random and awkward.

Saw it in a book shop today. Content was pretty much what the title said, and the book was about 800 pages long. Just found the author on Wiki, so he's not some unknown. Looked good. Anyone read it?

To be fair, they only had 7 or 8 games, but I did see something very cool. A new version of Space Invaders, done on some low-tech (but very large) screen, but you use a pair of light guns to shoot the space invaders before they kill the character(s) at the bottom of the screen.

It was kinda cool. Anyone else see this?

The middle is very repetitive, I agree. A lot of stuff about people turning away from God, and how they were either punished or came back to God.

I think the beginning and end are pretty varied, though.

If I had to guess (although there are plenty of people who have never explicitly stated their ages), I'd say Cyric, who is about 36 or 37.

Years ago, there used to be a user called Sir Quick, who was in his 50s, and would be in his 60s now, although I think he had a serious illness and died. He was much older than any other poster on this board. I can't say I knew him very well, I think he was mostly before my time.

This is one of the things I was talking about. I have no such documents at all. I mean...pinky started this stupid rumour about 2 years ago, and I think quite a few people actually believe it.

I also got accused recently of having "spread sheets" on CyricZ's life (who would even bother?).

The last month or so, and to a a lesser extent, the last 3 or 4 months, I've seen (and been involved in) some rather heated conversations. People seem rather angry or upset or hateful or disturbed. What I'm saying is, people are taking stuff really seriously on this board recently.

Of course, it's hard to guage how upset someone is from words on a screen. Without body language, or tone of voice, or whatever, you can't tell exactly. But judging from the actual content, and things like all caps and bolding words, people are genuinely losing their tempers with each other, and feeling strong emotions in certain topics. Is everything alright, CE? Also, we've had some proper meltdowns, like Gogglator getting banned, and possibly some other things, too.

What's going on? People used to be reasonably detached posting here, and although we sometimes rubbed each other up the wrong way, things didn't get too bad...most of the time. Why are people getting so emotional? Are tempers getting worse? It's good, having said all THAT, that people are taking things seriously on CE, because the last few years, it sometimes seemed like people didn't care much. But why be negative? Why the aggro, or the threats, or the slightly unhinged from anger responses to posts?

Am I just imagining all this? Or perhaps, clicking on the wrong topics?

To fair, though, all this stuff they've added to the boards was a bad idea. Imbedded videos, bougies, etc. The point of the boards was how simple they were, not allowing people to put tons of stupid fucking pictures in their sigs, and things like that. Then, at the beginning of the 2010s I think, they started adding in "improvements". Sigh.

Perhaps it's why so many people left. Not neccesarily, but maybe.
